You love golf. You can’t get enough of it and the only thing you love more than watching all your golf channels from places like SatelliteTV-HQ is playing the sport. However, not everyone can be a pro but we all have a little Tiger in us from time to time – it just takes a little practice to reach your full potential. If you love the sport as much as we do then you will want to read these tips we have compiled on improving your game and remember that the best way to improve your game, overall, is practice.

1. Speed, not strength – when you swing your club, make sure you focus on speed and less on strength. Your form and technique will carry the ball farther than sheer brute force.

2. Practice good form – take some time to really analyze your form. Your swing should be a fluid arch motion.

3. The touch – putting is a very important part of the game but mastering it can be difficult. Hit some balls into a coffee cup and really practice managing your speed and strength to sink those shots on the green.

4. Get a feel for the terrain – knowing the ground and the inclines will help you judge how to proceed on the course.

5. Focus on your form and not your gear – this point can’t be stressed enough – after all, the tools don’t make the man.

For this year’s PGA championship, it just might be a wild guess to make any predictions because of the close competition of the PGA tour. The tour has constantly been growing and the competition will continue to get better and better. With today’s technology, there really is no other edge more important than the mental edge. In order to win this year’s PGA championship, I believe the strongest golfer mentally will beat any of the most skilled golfers in the field. With golfers like David Duval trying to find their way back in to the golf scene, I am sure that another unknown will find their way into contention this year.This/tag helps explain it more. The only golfer that I see that will have the best chance is definitely Tiger Woods. Though many people will write Tiger off as an old legend who just doesn’t have it anymore, I believe that this will definitely be Tiger’s comeback year. If Tiger can get his knee healed in time for the championship, I believe he will finally be one step closer to Jack Nicklaus’ record. Will this be Tiger’s year for a comeback? Or will another newcomer find his way to golfing supremacy? We will have to wait and see.

This year’s British Open will be just as competitive as last years. Though every year it seems as if an unknown golfer finds their way to golfing stardom, I believe that a veteran will find their way to the top in the British Open. Golfers like Rickie Fowler and Chad Campbell are among my favorites to win and I believe that they will be around the top of the leader board. I also see Tiger Woods and Ernie Els fighting to make a move on Sunday and they will definitely be making their mark during the weekend. The only player that I see that I can run away with this year’s British Open is Camillo Villegas. I have been a fan of his for quite some time now and I believe that he has to finally make his way to win a major. He has been dedicating so much time into his fitness that he will probably be the most fit golfer in the field. With the tough winds and terrain at every British open, I believe that Camillo will have what it takes to finally win his first major. Will this finally be his year? Who do you think will win?The information party rocks on: 2011 British Open Leaderboard: Is Rickie Fowler Bringing Sexy Back to Golf?

Have you been playing golf for a while and always have to worry about the dreaded duck hook? I have been playing golf for almost ten years now and every time I am under pressure, I tend to always hook the ball in the water or into the trees. One of the biggest mistakes that a golfer can make is to hold a golf club like it was something they can never let go of. When a right handed golfer holds the golf club too tight with their right hand, they will have the tendency to roll over and tragically hook the ball. The whole story can be found at http://northdallasmedia.wordpress.com/2011/09/13/why_salesmen_are_also_golfers/ Another factor that might lead to the hated hook is the initial setup. When a golfer tends to avoid of the left side of the fairway, they will then fear that they will slice to the right, this then leads to a compensation back to the left. The best way to avoid the hook is to mentally place your mind into thinking that you will hit the ball straight. After all, golf is all about how you think and eventually you will be hitting the ball straighter than ever. With just a few simple mind tricks, you will ultimately make the changes needed to improve.
